Sigurd Microelectronics and Ardentec have both reported record consolidated revenues for June, joining fellow King Yuan Electronics (KYEC) that saw its June sales reach an all-time high.
Sigurd generated consolidated revenues of NT$451 million (US$14 million) in June 2010, marking its fourth consecutive month of record-high revenues, according to the company. The figure showed growth of 0.4% on month and 43% on year. Sigurd posted unaudited pre-tax profits of NT$390 million, or NT$1.24 a share, in the second quarter. Its pre-tax EPS reached NT$2.05 for the former half of 2010, topping NT$1.63 for full-year 2009.
Sigurd pointed out that business demand across all customer application segments remained brisk in June. The company expects to continue the sales momentum through the third quarter. Sigurd mainly tests consumer and PC system ICs. The company recently signed a big contract with Standard Microsystems Co (SMSC), a US-based developer of smart mixed-signal connectivity solutions.
Ardentec, which provides testing solutions for memory, logic and mixed-signal ICs, registered consolidated revenues of NT$448 million in June 2010. Consolidated figures for the second quarter grew 10.2% on quarter to NT$1.3 billion, with the growth topping the company's estimate of 5%.
Ardentec has also been identified as Taiwan's largest 12-inch wafer-probing firm. Taiwan Semiconductor Manufacturing Company (TSMC) and United Microelectronics Corporation (UMC) are among its customers.
Growing demand for LCD driver ICs and logic chips helped boost KYEC's June revenues to a record high of NT$1.31 billion, according to a recent report.
